A Special Gift: Handmade Jewelry
If you want to buy some jewelry for yourself or for a loved one then you should definitely think about skipping the mass produced garbage for sale at many stores and consider purchasing some unique handmade earrings instead!
Think about it. What’s so great about owning the exact same earrings, necklace, or bracelet as hundreds or thousands of other people? Mass produced jewelry may be expensive but that doesn’t mean it’s truly valuable. I don’t care what type of “precious stones” it is made out of. I do not care about how many diamonds it’s made out of. It’s not really unique or really valuable in a human way unless it’s handmade.
When you purchase some handmade jewelry you are connecting with a real person who has made that jewelry for you. That connection is worth much more than gold or diamonds. When you purchase an expensive diamond ring you just purchasing the same exact ring that many others have bought. There’s not anything really special about it.
Something you may want to consider if you want something really made just for you is to order custom made necklaces.
Such a necklace can have a pendant with custom text on it for an example. You tell the jewelry artist what text you want to have printed on the pendant so you will know that it was made specially for you. This also makes for an awesome gift for an Anniversary, a Birthday, or Christmas. Your significant other will certainly appreciate a gift with such a personal touch.
Another positive to buying handmade is that you are supporting a true artist and not some faceless company. That’s something to feel really good about. Certainly our world needs less corporate power and more human power. Artists make our world more “human” while corporations are only concerned with greater profits at any cost.
