Which old coin would be worth more? A proof or a circulated coin that is in the same condition as the proof?

If I had 2 old coins (when I say “old,” I’m thinking early to mid 1900s) that were exactly the same (same year minted, same monetary value, etc.), and they are both in perfect condition, would the circulated coin be worth more because it has more “history,” or would the proof be worth more because it is a higher quality coin and has never been circulated? I’m asking as if they were both in the exact same condition, looks-wise, shine-wise, etc.

It would depend on the what coin you have. Most of the time older Proofs are worth more but it depends on what it is and the mintage. Older super high grade are not so common either but mintage counts as well as how many were saved. This question can not really be answered unless the coin is known. There is a lot more to it than proof versus mint state. Remember proof is not a grade, a proof is a specially made coin with a special surface and planchet. Best I can do here.
